This past weekend, I opened my trading app and saw my stock investment had quadrupled.
Yep. Four friggin times what it was on Friday.
After I picked my jaw off the floor, I realized what was going on.
Apple had announced a stock-split the previous week and while the app had quadrupled my stock quantity, each stock was still associated with the pre-split price. Holy guac.
Even though I understood logically what was going on, I wanted to milk this moment so I nestled into my couch, took a deep breath, grabbed my blankie and some tea. I then stared at this shiny new amount and allowed myself to dream and fantasize for a good ten to fifteen minutes.
What would this excess mean for me, our home, the business? How would I spend or invest it? I let myself go – uninhibited by ‘buts’ and ‘ifs’
It was a fun game to play.
Delicious, dreamy, expansive.
(Of course, by Monday, everything had sorted itself and my stock price was back to normal.)
These kind of ‘let’s step into another reality’ experiences are important. They activate parts of our brain, heart and physiology that create new neural pathways, allowing us to create, build and problem-solve in ways we normally wouldn’t.
We access parts of our imagination and creativity that our current reality simply doesn’t spark.
It’s also important to realize that our current reality is old news. It is a creation of the intentions, decisions and actions we made and took in the past.
Spending time dreaming, visualizing and feeling into the future is so important for our wellbeing, confidence and success. Especially at this time, when a pandemic has limited our options for adventure, play and exploration.
Let me ask you: what do you want to create in your future, Puja? Do you schedule time to think and dream and envision your future self?
Today, I want to share with you a powerful, deceptively simple and reality-altering exercise I often use with my clients at our A Return to Self program:
You’ll need about 20-30 minutes to do justice to this process. If you can spend time in nature, at a park or beach or by a window with a beautiful, expansive view, even better. We want the trees and birds and butterflies to conspire with you on this 😉
Grab a notebook and pen. Ready?
Write down your current income or revenue.
Great, now add a 0 (zero) at the end. For example, if you’re making $120,000 a year, your new number will be $1,200,000. Let’s call this new amount X.
Now read and complete each statement below:
As someone who makes ______X_________ (insert new amount here):

My home/office environment reflects:

Write out these answers in as much detail as possible, infusing as much feeling and emotion into them as possible.
Bob Proctor say: ‘If you see it in your mind, you will hold it in your hand.’
So I invite you to make some time this weekend, to see and imagine and create a vision for your future self. She is ready and eagerly waiting to meet and co-create with you 🙂
