If you’re a woman leader or entrepreneur, you know this deep in your bones: the world needs women in autonomous, sovereign positions of power and leadership.
But we can’t do this by plugging into a system of productivity that costs us our health, relationships and peace of mind.
The eastern concept of Yin and Yang perfectly encapsulates the importance of integrating feminine values into our schedule.
The feminine/yin/being side within you supports the masculine/yang/doing side.
Take a building for example. Way before a single brick was laid, someone looked into an empty space and envisioned a structure that would look and function a certain way.
That vision is the feminine part of the process.
Then a blueprint was created and revised to make the most optimal use of this space – to make it beautiful and functional.
That blueprint is another feminine part of the process.
Then a foundation was laid, deep into the earth, offering integrity and a structure for the building to stand on.
The foundation is the feminine part of the process.
Then and only then the actual construction begins.
The feminine within and around is often the unseen, intangible, invisible aspect of our work. Yet, without it, we stand on shaky ground, giving too much without clarity, confidence or direction.
When the feminine within us is nourished and nurtured we can spring into our masculine/doing side with ease and grace.
Things get done faster, with less effort and exhaustion.
Here are some simple ways to feed the feminine/yin within you:
- Protecting your sleep and creating rituals every night to sleep peacefully and deeply
- Listening to your body when she needs to rest
- Pausing to celebrate your big-small accomplishments and victories
- Staying hydrated
- Spending time in nature
- Scheduling me-time into your day
- Giving yourself a brief loving massage before stepping into the shower
- Doing the morning pages first thing
- Spending five minutes to meditate
Which of these resonate? In the comments share how you stay connected to your Yin side on a daily basis.
